Rezz drops surprise collaboration EP with X1-Y2

Rezz teams up with unknown alias X1-Y2 for a new four-song EP titled ‘NOVUS’ following the Portal show announcement.

Canadian DJ and producer Rezz has once again made waves in the electronic music scene as she has released her highly anticipated new EP, ‘NOVUS’. Teaming up with rising talent X1-Y2, this project blends their distinctive styles into a cohesive sound that pushes the boundaries of mid-tempo bass. Fans have eagerly awaited this collaboration, which delivers on every level.

The ‘NOVUS’ EP is an electrifying journey that features Rezz’s signature hypnotic beats and deep, dark basslines, combined with X1-Y2’s innovative flair. The four-track collection includes “Proximate,” “Eternal,” “Zero,” and “Subsequent,” each of which showcases a different facet of both artist’s creativity. This release reflects Rezz’s continued evolution while introducing new sonic elements from her collaborators.

Rezz took to Instagram to express her gratitude and excitement for the EP’s release. In a recent post she stated, “NOVUS EP. OUT NOW. Lemme know ur fav track! Mine is “eternal” 🙂 It was such a joy & a breeze working on these songs. If you like gaming, or listening to music that makes u feel like you’re a super model about to fight against the final boss, these songs are for you.”

One of the standout features of this EP is its mid-tempo drive, a signature element of Rezz’s catalog. However, she and X1-Y2 bring a fresh twist by incorporating industrial and futuristic styles. These tracks take their time to build, allowing listeners to fully immerse themselves in the atmosphere and experience the hypnotic, dreamlike layers of sound.

Rezz’s collaboration with X1-X2 has generated a lot of hype among fans eagerly awaiting the EP’s release. X1-X2 is an emerging artist, and fans initially speculated that they might be Deathpact—an alias some have also thought could be Rezz herself. However, Deathpact debunked that theory on Reddit. X1-X2 creates similar mid-tempo bass music to Rezz, and the two have teamed up before to remix her popular track, “Edge.”

Along with the release of the EP, Rezz has recently announced her new show “PORTAL.” The first show is set to take place at Cow Palace in San Francisco, where she will be premiering a new stage design and never seen before production. Make sure to grab tickets and check out the full EP!
