Armin van Buuren leaks details on Insomniac collaboration for A State of Trance festival in the US

On an episode of A State of Trance with special guest Pasquale Rotella, Armin van Buuren has broken the news about an upcoming debut US festival.

This week, international trance music legend Armin van Buuren hosted a special episode of his radio show, A State of Trance, from Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE). For an extra surprise, Armin brought on American dance music legend Pasquale Rotella, the founder of Insomniac, for an exclusive interview. Their five-minute conversation ended with a bang, as Armin revealed plans for a collaboration with Insomniac for the debut US edition of his A State of Trance festival in 2025.

The mammoth announcement from Armin was apparently unplanned, as Pasquale indicated that Armin had “leaked” the information before it was intended to be made official. Pasquale didn’t seem to be miffed by Armin’s speaking out of turn, however, saying that there could be no better place to leak the collaboration and that he “couldn’t be more excited” for it. “In the states, there needs to be an epic, massive, perfectly produced [A State of Trance] festival,” said the businessman.

Long a staple in the US dance music scene, Insomniac has recently made a push to expand their footprint into Europe. In early October, they announced the launch of Insomniac Europe, which will be putting on Amsterdam Music Festival (AMF) 2024 at ADE and Armin van Buuren’s A State of Trance (ASOT) festival in the Netherlands in 2025. Now, it seems Insomniac plans to help Armin push his festival stateside as well.

As Pasquale says in his conversation with Armin, fans of ASOT  are found all over the globe, so it’s no surprise that the two are aiming at expanding the festival to the enormous US market. Armin says that the move to the US is his “dream,” and that “the future is bright for A State of Trance.” More details on the exact location and dates of the festival will come with the eventual official announcement from Armin and Insomniac – for American trance music fans, that can’t arrive soon enough.
