Zhu’s Blacklizt project returns for huge new collaboration with HI-LO

Born from alter-egoes, this new Blacklizt and HI-LO collaboration encourages fans to surrender to the dark essence of techno mastery.

Hilomatik’s latest release, ‘Afraid To Live’ has finally landed. Following the success of his recently released two-disc album, ‘GRACE,’ ZHU introduces his alter-ego, Blacklizt, in collaboration with HI-LO for a captivating immersion into the techno world. From the outset, this techno collaboration from Blacklizt and HI-LO displays a balance of darkness and light as the tension builds, transporting you to a hypnotic underground experience.

The taking on of alter-egos has proven to elevate the complexity of both ZHU and Oliver Heldens as artists. ZHU’s alter-ego, Blacklizt, inserts fans into the darker and more experimental sound that showcases his complexity and builds on what we’ve previously known him to produce.

Similarly, Oliver Heldens takes on the alter-ego of HI-LO, describing this as the darker side of himself. Taking on this project has allowed the Dutch producer to transcend any previously established boundaries as an artist, as he curates innovative sounds through different interpretations of his own work.

With recent releases, teamed up with artists such as Space 92 and Maddix, HI-LO continues to deliver infectious rhythms, and this new release with Blacklizt is no exception. Fans can catch HI-LO in a highly anticipated B2B performance with Eli Brown at EDC Orlando in November following the release of their joint ‘Pyramid Rave’ EP.

Moreover, ZHU fans can catch the renowned artist on his Grace Tour at upcoming shows in Mexico and Colombia, then followed by a European leg. The singer, songwriter, and producer previously announced that the album release is to be accompanied by a film debut in the fall. Fans have much to anticipate from this Grammy-nominated American DJ as he continues to elevate his artistry

With the release of “Afraid To Live,” HI-LO and Blacklizt are a techno-driven match made in heaven as they invite fans to explore their combined unique sound. This new collaboration takes listeners to an alternate dimension compared to what the artists have previously released as Oliver Heldens and ZHU.

My name is Alejandra Benitez and I was born and raised in the DMV. Having close proximity to Washington D.C. means I am accustomed to a fast paced environment as things are constantly changing. For me, the EDM scene has provided so much comfort and space to really find myself even amongst chaos. My first ever show was Zeds Dead and it truly changed my outlook on community and further affirmed my love for music. I am a basshead at heart but enjoy exploring new genres and artists. Being a writer for Exron has given me an amazing opportunity to learn more about the electronic music industry and I love being able to express myself creatively. Some of my favorite artists include Levity, Rezz, Tape B, Disco Lines, and Sub Focus.
