Everything to know about Hulaween’s immersive art program Spirit Lake
Hulaween returns to Suwanee with its stellar immersive art program and over 40 new installations.
Suwannee Hulaween, the premier Halloween festival in Florida has given the attendees a sneak peek of art installations for the upcoming festival next weekend. Including new stages, artists, and installations following the festival theme of ‘Weir’d Science,’ these larger-than-life art forms are bound to stun the attendees. The installations are begging to become the perfect photo op for festival-goers’ impending photo dump.
Hulaween is a music festival whose creators have a strong appreciation for the arts to create a fully immersive environment; guiding attendees from reality to a magical utopia. To bring this vision to life, Hulaween’s diverse portfolio includes sculptors, fire/metal workers, painters, digital artists, craftsmen, and lighting designers.
The installation artist Duende designed and built the newly minted ‘Off Limits’ stage. Duende has been a Hulaween staple for the last five years with their creation of Birdhouse Village. Garnering inspiration from a Gothic Temple; a haunting design filled with stained glass windows highlights DEF’s emphasis on 360-degree production.
“For those who are lost, but not ready to be found – all are welcome, even the misfits.” The ‘Off Limits’ stage will bring the top artists in acid-house, UK Garage, and DnB. The imaginative stage experience will complement its underground music programming with pyro effects by Incendia and a bass-thumping Funktion-One sound system.
Returning to Hulaween will be the lakefront projection experience curated by Jasper & Shelby Mosher. There will be hypnotizing light shows and interactive installations. These interactive installations will include visual and performance art across the multiple stages at the festival. Hulaween will feature over 40 art installations including artistic classics returning alongside never-before-seen curations to accompany another thematic concept called ‘Escaped!’
Creatures and features from the depths of Spirit Lake will manifest into interactive installations throughout the festival grounds. Some Hulaween mainstays to return are House of the Lost, Birdhouse Village, and Mural Maze. Hulaween can’t reveal all their tricks yet; festivalgoers will wait until next weekend for the rest of their magical visual and musical treat!
