Zac Brown’s ex-wife Kelly dishes drama of her divorce as former couple’s legal battle rages on

Kelly Yadzi claims she was served a lifetime NDA, fired from her role at Zac Brown’s company, and sued, among other accusations.

Country musician Zac Brown, from the Zac Brown Band, and his wife Kelly Yadzi announced their divorce to the public in late 2023—just months after getting married. Now, Kelly has taken to TikTok to update fans on the painful aftermath of their split, which she describes as “incredibly painful.”

In a recent video, Kelly Yadzi outlines the timeline of events following their separation. She claims that Zac Brown informed her over Zoom that he wanted a divorce just nine days after their wedding celebration. She further alleges that Zac pressured her to sign a lifetime NDA, prohibiting her from ever discussing their relationship publicly.

Kelly states that she refused to sign the NDA, which was soon followed by Zac filing for divorce. She also shares that she was dismissed from her position as Executive Vice President of Zac Brown’s company, Zac Brown Band. Later, she was sued for publishing a poem, which allegedly violated a confidentiality clause in her employment contract. Although the lawsuit was dismissed, ongoing litigation persists.

Kelly Yadzi also accuses Zac Brown Band of exploiting private wedding footage in the music video for “Beautiful Drug” (featuring Avicii) remix. She claims that not only was footage from their wedding used without consent, but the video also featured a “look-alike model” portraying her in a negative light—depicting her engaging in drug use and other “risky behaviors.”

In response, Kelly says she pursued legal action against Zac Brown Band. The company reportedly responded by stating the video was filmed in 2018, before the wedding. However, Kelly maintains her belief that footage from their wedding was exploited for commercial purposes.

At the end of her TikTok video, Kelly shared photos from their wedding party to highlight the similarities to the music video. She also emphasized the importance of First Amendment rights, which she feels have been challenged since her split from Zac Brown. The comments on Kelly’s TikTok video show overwhelming support for her.

I've been a part of the dance music scene for nearly a decade and with Exron for more than half of that time. My first event was Diplo's Mad Decent but these days you'll find me at Club Space or the Brooklyn Mirage. Some of my top artists are G Jones, Tipper, Of The Trees, and CharlestheFirst. My favorite genres are techno, experimental bass, and ambient but I'll get down to anything with a beat!
