John Digweed cancels upcoming tour dates after being hospitalized and ‘very ill’

Management for British house artist John Digweed has announced that he is currently ill in the hospital and unable to attend upcoming shows.

In an Instagram post on Friday, the management team for John Digweed has shared that the artist “is very ill and in the hospital.” Because of this, the team says that “he sadly will not be able to attend any of his concerts this weekend,” including a solo show in Guadalajara and two shows with longtime DJ partner Sasha in Mexico City and Dallas. The post ends asking fans to “please join us in wishing for his speedy recovery.”

Sasha commented on his good friend’s post, saying “Get well mate! I/we need you back and fighting fit asap!” Several other artists hopped in the comments as well to express their love for John Digweed and their well wishes, including Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Muir, and Guy Mantzur.

The announcement of John’s hospitalization may come as a shock to many, with no previous public indication of poor health. No details about the nature or cause of the 57-year-old’s illness were provided in the team’s post. While they did confirm that John will not be able to attend this weekend’s shows, the team did not specify that the events would be canceled entirely, so they may carry on without him in some capacity.

Next on the schedule for John Digweed is a show with Sasha in London on October 11th, a solo show in Glasgow on October 12th, and a performance in Amsterdam for this year’s edition of ADE on October 16th. The management team has not made any indication about John’s status for these shows at this time.
