SOPHIE’s estate to release posthumous album in tribute to her barrier-breaking career

SOPHIE’s estate has set a date to release highly-anticipated posthumous album next Friday, September 27th.

It has been announced that SOPHIE’s estate will be releasing her highly anticipated posthumous album on September 27th. This will be her second studio album and will double as a final tribute to her musical genius.

Three years ago, Sophie Xeon – who is famously known under the stage name SOPHIE, tragically died after an accidental fall in Athens, Greece. This was a shock to the music industry and many mourned the passing of the Scottish music producer, songwriter, and DJ. For almost a decade, SOPHIE had gained popularity thanks to her ground-breaking influence in experimental hyperpop and dance music. The Glasgow-born had friendships and worked closely with artists like Camilla Cabello, Diplo, Charli XCX, and Madonna.

The news of the album was unveiled on her 38th birthday. This tribute coincides with a special animated music video made with Google Doodle for her hit song, “Immaterial” off of her acclaimed debut album, ‘Oil of Every Pearl’s Un-Insides.’

The album will feature never-heard-before collaborations with artists like Nina Kraviz, BC Kingdom, and Kim Petras. The upcoming album is titled “SOPHIE” and will feature 16 fresh tracks. The album includes previously released tracks, “Exhilarate” featuring Bibi Bourelly, and “One More Time” featuring Popstar.

Another highly anticipated track “RAWWWWWW,” which was originally released on Soundcloud years ago, will also finally be released. Other long-awaited collaborations such as “Love Me Off Earth” with Doss will be featured as well.

SOPHIE’s forthcoming album will offer fans one last chance to experience her visionary sound and barrier-breaking career. My favorite thing in the whole world is music and after hearing "One" by Swedish House Mafia for the first time in 2014, I was hooked on EDM. Dance music has been a large part of who I am and will always be searching for new ways to incorporate it in my life. The pure bliss that I feel from live shows is a feeling I never want to stop chasing (iykyk). Some of my favorite artists are Flume, Rüfüs Du Sol, Mindchatter, Disclosure, Dom Dolla and Fred Again.. :)
