Lane 8 to release new album inspired by his experiences as a father
Daniel Goldstein, famously known as Lane 8, announces the release date of his fifth studio album, ‘Childish.’
Renowned deep house artist, Lane 8, has released two posts on social media hinting at his next musical project. The first Instagram post displays continuous videos of his homemade childhood films resembling a time machine. The following Instagram post reveals an image of his new album cover, curated by Goldstein’s daughter, Heidi.
Also included in the announcement is a ten-song setlist. In addition, his new album titled ‘Childish’ will feature artist collaborations with talented names such as Kasablanca, Art School Girlfriend, Arctic Lake, Tailor, and Sultan + Shepard.
Lane 8 begins his new album announcement by expressing gratitude toward his experience as an artist and father. The artist shares how he enjoys watching his kids continue to expand their definition of creativity and live in an imaginative state.
Moreover, Lane 8 explains his positive experience in providing the materials and space for his kids to explore their creativity independently and uninterrupted. Notably, the fatherly musician describes how monumental it is to experience seeing his kids gain joy and confidence from their creative endeavors.
Lane 8 relates his experience as a parent to nurturing his artistic process with piano and drums throughout his childhood. Furthermore, he shares a full circle moment now seeing his kids nurture the start of their creative processes through the lens of a parent.
Daniel ends the message by explaining that his upcoming album ‘Childish’ is all about his experience as a parent and the importance of continuing to explore his childish creativity when creating music and art. On the other hand, the artist describes his process of making this album as a continuous flow state, thinking little about the result while only focusing on chasing joy rather than pleasuring the masses.
