What is the theme of Hulaween 2024?

Ahead of Suwanee’s Hulaween Festival 11th edition, the team has announced a brand new theme to celebrate a musical debut at this year’s event.

Let’s get Weir’d! Hulaween, the Halloween festival held yearly in Suwanee is back with an all-new theme for the 11th edition of the festival. Yearly, Hulaween will dedicate a theme to the event to inspire attendees to dress their Halloween best, past themes include “Full Moon Family Reunion” and “Suwanee Disco Horror Show.” This year’s theme is even more special, dedicated to Bobby Weir and his festival debut with The String Cheese Incident.

The theme for 2024 is “Weir’d Science,” a cheeky play on words for Bobby Weir, the iconic vocalist and guitar shredder of the Grateful Dead. Bobby Weir, has been a legend in the music since the Grateful Dead’s inception in 1965. Having played for The Grateful Dead, The Others (later known as The Dead), and currently frontmanning Dead & Co alongside John Mayer. Weir adds another band to his impressive resume by joining The String Cheese Incident for the first time as The Bobby Weir Incident. 

The String Cheese Incident is a Colorado-based and Hulaween staple jam band. Having been a Hulaween staple for the last decade as one of the founding bands behind the festival, they have multiple sets during the four-day event. The festival’s lineup is as if the curators took their favorite local wook’s Spotify and said, “This is pretty good.” Tipper, Liquid Stranger, Daily Bread, Levity, Alleycvt, Truth, and many more are also performing at the event. If you are craving some house, Hulaween has it there will also be sets from Azzecca, Cassian, Chris Lake, AYYBO, and others. 

Let’s get “Weir’d” this Halloween. The festival encourages attendees to come dressed to impress. With the theme of “Weir’d Science,” expect to see mad scientists, extraterrestrials, skeletons, or robots. Over the past decade, Hulaween’s festival yearly theme has become a coveted part of its identity, encouraging inclusive creative expression with the Halloween spirit in mind. Get excited, get creative, and get “Weir’d”!
