Patrick Topping endorses alcohol-free raving with ‘Sober October’ show announcement

Sober October Day-Party announcement by Patrick Topping encourages alcohol-free rave, location yet to be announced.

Patrick Topping announces he is hosting a Sober Rave day party in honor of Sober October somewhere this Fall. The English DJ and music producer has started playing sober since 2017 and is now curating a space for people to come together and share this moment together without the influence of alcohol, as there won’t be any served at the event.

Topping mentions via Instagram the influence playing sober has had on him “it changed my relationship with music and partying and improved my mental and physical health so much.” He continues, “I’ve personally found this shifts the focus so much more back on to the music too.”. He also mentions the duality with the underground dance music scene “I love underground dance music so much, and the community has so many positive aspects I’m not trying to take away from, this is my life and passion but also there can be a dark side to it, which I’ve been a part of myself.”

He reassures that he is not “against alcohol” but rather wants to create a unique experience “..a night during Sober October, where people can come and not feel the pressure to drink but still have that communal experience of raving together and with other people on the same level.”

For the perfect setting, the event is set to take place during the day to ensure “the music is central and it’s a really healthy, unique shared experience.” Further noting the effects of night turned sunrise sets and the common hangovers a.k.a. “Sunday Scaries”, Topping notes “I love the idea of people being able to come and not feel hungover or tired for days after, but instead just have a fully positive experience.”

Touching base with his community, Topping is asking his Instagram followers which city he should host the Sober Rave in. Encouraging his followers to register their city directly in the link that’s in his bio. He recent post says “Hoping this might inspire someone to try Sober October possibly too, then we can all rave at the end of the month to celebrate.”.

Topping went from hometown DJ to being a world renowned DJ/producer who plays at the top festivals in the world and holds a summer residency in Ibiza. Consistently touring the world and “Topping” the charts, he has a major influence on the electronic music industry. In 2019, Topping launched his label TRICK with his release ‘Watch What Ya Doing’, showing the artist has both a creative and entrepreneurial spirit.

The Tech-House titan has been in the scene for more than a decade and has managed his career and personal life, simultaneously. Growing both a career and a family, as Topping recently welcomed his first child with his wife last fall. This upcoming event can be a reflection of Topping putting his best foot forward not just for himself, but for those around him.
