Chapter & Verse accuses The Martinez Brothers of ‘forcing a drink’ on a woman at a show

Chapter & Verse takes to Instagram to accuse Chris Martinez of the Martinez Brothers of inappropriate behavior at a recent show.

Acclaimed DJ and producer Chapter & Verse has recently posted a wordy Instagram story post regarding the behavior of Chris Martinez, one-half of The Martinez Brothers, at one of his most recent shows. There has been no retort from Chris Martinez or The Martinez Brothers since this post went live, so this story remains unconfirmed and only reported by Chapter & Verse.

He wrote in his story post, “Last night I witnessed a famous DJ try to force a lone female to drink shots whilst she was simply stood at the bar waiting to be served. When she refused I saw the guy walk over to security, single her out, and ask for her to be removed from the club. When she spoke to the management she was told I’m sorry it’s his night, he says you have to leave now.”

Chapter & Verse continues to write, “Imagine being a vulnerable lone female being put through the ordeal of being thrown out of the club by security for simply saying no.” The details of this incident are not 100% confirmed as the woman involved has not come forward about her experience.

Unfortunately, as a woman, simply saying “no” comes with unreasonable consequences as opposed to men and the ease they face when setting boundaries in public. There is simply more risk as a woman, and sometimes in return comes hatred, violence, or animosity.

He continues the post by saying, “As DJs men have a responsibility to be championing women’s safety & helping those who are vulnerable, not attempting to use their position to exploit single females they see as easy targets. Chris Martinez, you are a disgrace to DJ culture and the privileged position you find yourself in. You do not have the right to use your so-called power to disrespect women and force them to do things against their will. This conduct has to stop.”

This would not be the first time an artist has been accused of misconduct, however, there have not been any confirmed receipts to back up the accusation. This remains simply an allegation, and if proven true, it would be incredibly disappointing to all fans of the Martinez Brothers.
