Disclosure’s Howard Lawrence has shared the joyous news of his engagement in a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, along with a charming unreleased track on piano.

Member of UK-based electronic duo Disclosure, Howard Lawrence, shared an uplifting personal update with fans this week. The DJ/producer revealed his engagement to “the love of [his] life” and reflected on recent developments in life.

In the post, Lawrence described how a simple piece of music can come to symbolize the abundance of “good news”. Furthermore, the track “Good News” was recorded during a gathering with friends where the joys of upcoming marriages and pregnancy filled the air.

“I’ve been playing a lot of piano recently,” Howard wrote, explaining that the melody came naturally while he was “piano doodling.” He captured the moment as his friends talked about their own milestones, certainly unaware that he would soon also have life-changing news. Posting the snippet on Instagram, Lawrence shared his gratitude for such joyous moments despite ongoing challenges, including his continued struggle with long COVID. “Sometimes good news comes at just the right time,” he noted in his caption.

Formed by brothers Howard and Guy Lawrence in 2010, Disclosure’s popularity quickly skyrocketed with their blend of house and garage. The duo achieved mainstream success with their debut album ‘Settle’ in 2013 with hits like Latch (feat. Sam Smith), White Noise (feat. AlunaGeorge). Moreover, the brothers have maintained their influence in the electronic scene, headlining festivals and playing sold-out shows globally. The duo has recently performed at events like Circoloco, and headlined festivals including Glastonbury and Cercle Paris, unquestionably garnering rave reviews.

Having grown up just an earshot from Ultra Miami's venue Bayfront Park, it was next to impossible for me not to fall in love with electronic music. My love for music was evidently strong enough for me to write my college essay on festival culture and continue attending Ultra for 10+ years now. I have always had a knack for writing and the power of words, which I continued cultivating through a Philosophy degree in college. Now, I am finishing up law school and hope to merge my passions by working in the music industry. I am an avid traveler and am certainly not afraid to hop on a plane for a music event. My next bucket list items to attend are Tomorrowland in Belgium and ADE in the Netherlands. Though the list could go on forever, some of my favorite artists include Franky Wah, Kevin de Vries, Eli Brown, and John Summit.
