Linkin Park ushers in new era with Dead Sara frontwoman Emily Armstrong and forthcoming album

Linkin Park, one of the largest rock bands of the 90s and 00s, Has revamped with a new frontwoman, Emily Armstong ahead of the new album release.

Linkin Park is an American rock band that has been around for nearly three decades. The band has announced they are reuniting ahead of their latest album release in the last seven years. The new frontwoman is Emily Armstrong, previously from Dead Sara. Emily Armstrong is replacing the late Chester Bennington who passed away tragically after a long battle with depression several years ago after the band’s last release, “One More Light.”

News of Chester’s passing shook the rock and music community as he had been the frontman for the band since its inception. In a hiatus to honor the loss of the talented artist, Linkin Park took a much-needed break from the scene to mourn.

The upcoming album’s first single, “The Emptiness Machine,” marks Linkin Park’s return to the scene with new members to carry on the legacy of Chester and Linkin Park. remaining members of the band, Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Dave “Phoenix” Farrell, and Joe Hahn are all returning, though longtime drummer Rob Bourdon has stepped away from the band.

New additions to the band include Emily Armstrong (from Dead Sara) as vocalist and Linkin Park welcomes Colin Brittain as their new drummer replacing Rob Bourdon. Armstong and Shinoda will share vocals, becoming the co-vocalists of the band. Their upcoming tour, ‘Four Zero,’ begins in September 2024 having stops in New York, London, and Los Angeles. ‘From Zero,’ is a tribute to the band’s original name Xero, which they retired in 1999 before becoming Linkin Park.

Hey! I'm Shiv! Music is the greatest part of my life, I remember discovering dubstep when I was 15/16 and my entire life was altered - robot noises?? I needed MORE! Now, I live in NYC and have seen over 60 artists of all genres; my favorites being Odesza, Subtronics, Rezz, Griz, Zeds Dead, John Summit and Kaskade. I am an enjoyer of music and will try everything once, I do not discriminate - there is beauty in all genres (minus country). You can usually find me in a warehouse at 4AM because I am nocturnal and will quite literally never say no to a show.

What's your reaction?
