Fans speculate rapper Rich Homie Quan dies from overdose

Rich Homie Quan has passed away suddenly in his Atlanta home at age 34, with no autopsy results yet to confirm cause of death.

Rapper Rich Homie Quan (Dequantes Lamar) has passed away on September 5th at his home in Atlanta, Georgia at age 34. His longtime girlfriend, Amber Williams, reportedly found Quan unresponsive on their couch and immediately called 911. Williams reportedly told the 911 operator that Quan had no pulse, no breath, and was foaming at the mouth.

The results of the rapper’s autopsy results have not yet been announced, but many fans and other artists close to Quan believe the cause of death to be an overdose. One such peer, Boosie Badazz, posted on X on September 5th that he “JUST GOT WORD [Quan] JUST OD,” indicating either he or someone that he spoke to believes that Quan overdosed. In two further posts on X, Boosie went on to say that he “JUST TALKED TO” Quan and that their memories will “ALWAYS BRING A SMILE TO MY FACE.” 

Quan’s girlfriend Amber Williams spoke for the first time on following his death on September 8th on Instagram, calling the situation “a complete nightmare.” She called the pain in the wake of the incident “unbearable” and stated she is “traumatized” and “heartbroken” that her partner of fifteen years is gone. She also thanked those who reached out to show support and asked that everyone “please respect me and my family at this time.”

Not much else is known about Rich Homie Quan’s sudden death at this time, but further light should be cast on the cause of death in the coming days when autopsy results are released. For now, fans and colleagues alike will continue to mourn the tragic loss.
