Watch Solomun and Patrick Topping go b2b for the first time

When Solomun and Patrick Topping teamed up for their first-ever b2b set, they delivered a night that fans will be talking about for years.

Solomun and Patrick Topping have joined forces for a b2b set for the very first time, and it was nothing short of legendary. This historic moment occurred at Creamfields, one of England’s world’s most iconic electronic music festivals; the setting couldn’t have been more perfect as their collab closed out the Steelyard stage.

Solomun, an OG known for his deep, melodic house, and Patrick Topping, the master of tech-house, both brought something distinct to the decks. The set was highly anticipated and lived up to the expectations of the crowd and both DJs. Fan’s comments on the set were: “Possibly the best b2b I’ve seen” and “Could have honestly listened to another 2 hours of you two, it was brilliance from start to finish.”

The two prepared beforehand to ensure their sounds would mesh together perfectly. “We are both known for two different styles, so we spoke about the direction in advance,” Topping explained in a recent Instagram post. “Then separately prepped bits and freestyled it in the moment, and it flowed so well!”

The energy was unmatched as Solomon and Patrick Topping wove their unique sounds together and pushed each other creatively. Solomun and Patrick Topping also said they are looking forward to going b2b again soon. “We’ve both said we need to do it again, as we loved it so much,” Patrick Topping added in his post.

For Patrick Topping, the night even held a more nostalgic significance. “I booked Solomun to play Newcastle in 2011, and he’s been a huge influence on me,” he shared in the post. “This was such a special night.” He said it was a dream realized for him, who has admired Solomun’s work for a long time.

The duo’s chemistry was undeniable, and their ability to seamlessly blend their styles while freestyling showcased their immense talent and respect for one another. For those who weren’t able to witness this historic set in person, the entire performance is available to stream online.
