James Hype used to show up at venues and ‘beg’ for gigs before hitting fame

James Hype has shared some words of wisdom as he reminisces on the beginning of his DJing career and how it has come full circle.

James Hype described the highs and lows of beginning his career and what he had gone through while pitching himself. He has fondly remembered his time playing multiple shows a week around the country as he spread his name. He explained his origins, saying he had asked artists at clubs in Ibiza, Mallorca, and the Greek Islands if he could play before or after their sets.

The UK artist had funded his journey to get the crowd to know who the house DJ James Hype was. He had independently gone around Europe to promote himself, build connections, and mix music. James Hype before fame had dreamed of playing in clubs and now, he is a resident at Hï Ibiza – the number one club on the island.

“It might take 10 years, but if you just go for it, just enjoy the process and enjoy the hard work because it’s supposed to be hard. You will get there,” he promised before signing off and ending the video. 

James Hype before fame was making his mark with remixes, singles, and a solid social media presence. His songs have since charted in numerous countries and earned Platinum, Silver, and Gold certifications. Since beginning in 2016, he has continued performing globally in clubs and at festivals in North America, Europe, and Australia

His residency at Hï Ibiza is coming to an end on October 4 after a four-month run. James Hype and the club have posted full sets on social media throughout the months, letting listeners join in on the fun. 

James Hype chronicles his adventures on YouTube where he uploads vlogs, his creation process, and more. The artist seems to constantly be on the move, so stay updated with his pages.
