Peggy Gou’s new single ‘Find The Way’ sounds eerily similar to her hit track ‘Nanana’

South Korean super star Peggy Gou has followed her proven formula to another fan favorite with her latest release “Find The Way.”

Last week, Peggy Gou released a new single, “Find The Way,” steeped in bubbly positive vibes and undeniably dance floor-ready. Throw in the glorious cover art of a cat in sleek sunglasses and pink boots riding a shrimp, and it’s safe to say she’s got another hit on her hands. But real Gou heads can’t help but notice some striking similarities to her prize gem, “(It Goes Like) Nanana.”

Both tracks start off at a fast-paced 130 bpm and add a snappy pair of bassline and melody, but that’s just standard procedure for Peggy Gou’s brand of happy house music. The real uncanny resemblance comes in with Gou’s airy vocals, moving the listener along at a familiar mesmerizing pace into the irresistibly catchy choruses that give each song their name. “Find The Way” and “Nanana” each also employ a Daft Punk-like funky synth to add a little extra flair, albeit in two distinct flavors.

One element from “Find The Way” that isn’t found in “Nanana” is the pace-changing techno/electro breakdown just past the half-way point. The captivating section harshly snaps the listener out of their bright, joyful trance before tossing them back in for the final minute. “Nanana” includes a briefer and much less drastic palette cleanser near the mid-way mark, stripping away some melodic elements to highlight the vocals.

Though some apparent similarities do exist between these two songs, “Find The Way” still stands on its own as a bona fide Peggy Gou banger. Ultimately, Gou is doing what all talented and successful producers do: find a formula that works and stick to it, but toy around with the particulars to give each piece its unique stamp. Who can blame her for returning to the well that shot her to stardom, at least to some degree?

However it came to be, the world wins when Peggy drops another heater. “Find The Way” and “Nanana” will be mixed seamlessly together in her sets for years to come, and the atmosphere will be immaculate each time.
