Portola Festival 2024 to Ignite San Francisco’s music scene

Portola Festival 2024 brings an epic electronic lineup to San Francisco’s Pier 80 with unmissable performances and more.

San Francisco’s largest electronic dance music event, Portola Music Festival, returns to Pier 80 from September 28th to 29th, 2024. Despite last year’s unfortunate noise complaints, the two-day event, presented by Goldenvoice, is back and better than ever for its third installment, boasting a lineup of some of the biggest names in electronic music.

The event will kick off on Saturday with headlining performances from RÜFÜS DU SOL, Gesaffelstein, Jamie XX, and Four Tet. Other artist highlights include BICEP presenting CHROMA (a special AV DJ set), Astra Club (Carlita b2b DJ Tennis), Tycho, the iconic Peaches, and many more.

Sunday’s headliners are Justice, Disclosure, Fisher, and M.I.A, who was scheduled to perform at Portola’s first installment in 2022 but dropped out shortly before the festival. Also on the schedule are Mochakk, drum and bass legends Chase & Status, Sara Landry, the infectiously fun Sammy Virji, and even DJ Pee .Wee, the DJ alias of Anderson .Paak.

This year’s edition of Portola hosts a wide array of artist favorites for every attendee, making it the perfect festival for electronic dance music lovers of all calibers. While the lineup is primarily EDM-focused, what recurring attendees love most about this festival is how seamlessly artists on the lineup from other diverse genres are integrated into it.

For example, JPEGMAFIA, with his experimental beats and unique abrasive sound is sure to pique the interest of festivalgoers who weren’t expecting to see a rapper on stage. Other genre-bending acts for this year’s forthcoming edition of the festival include Mount Kimbie, Empress Of, and Jessie Ware.

Although tickets for Portola 2024 are already sold out, fans who are missing out can still join in on the fun and choose from a jam-packed schedule of pre-parties and after-parties. The most anticipated event in this year’s Portola programming is a collaboration with Boiler Room.

The first evening showcase with Club Heat (Tove Lo & SG Lewis) is already sold out, but there is a second date that is still to be announced for those who want to partake in all its glory. Other Portola party highlights include Nia Archives’ ‘Up Ya Archives’ with Hitech on the 28th, Soulwax (live) on the 27th, and DJ Seinfeld on the 29th.
