BICEP member Matthew McBriar undergoes surgery for rare brain tumor

Mcbriar has begun the road to the recovery after health problems announced.

BICEP member Matthew McBriar has undergone surgery for a rare brain tumor. Luckily, the Belfast-born producer had caught the issue on the earlier side so that the proper steps could be taken. He has promised a return to normal life – playing shows and galvanizing crowds – after a 6 to 8-week recovery.

Ostensibly, Matthe McBriar’s impetus to live and need for music has helped him in a rather tumultuous time. As a critical half of the BICEP duo, he has received undue support from the community at large, as they always do. It’s striking to see his strength and commitment to resilience – truly a one-of-a-kind DJ.

Moreover, it has been announced that Andy Ferguson – the other half of BICEP – will be doing solo shows. Additionally, McBriar has asked for understanding in this transitional time, and one can only expect he’ll get that. As BICEP has made music for around 15 years, they have already left a significant imprint. 

The legendary duo has been gracing crowds from all over the world with their unique sonic vibe backed by drum and bass. Their famous tracks like “Glue,” “Apricots,” and “Water” (to name a few have cemented themselves in the EDM ethos. Furthermore, Four Tet’s remix of “Opal” has also won the hearts of many.

Expectedly, they have played at a variety of high-caliber festivals, always situated as a must-see performance. The duo has performed at the likes of Coachella, Glastonbury, Creamfields, and more. Over the years, the famed producers have refined their craft, showing a deep understanding of their music as well as their fans.

As Matthew McBriar has undergone surgery, the EDM community awaits what they hope will be positive news. While his recovery comes first, no doubt McBriar has set his mind to getting back on stage. Undoubtedly, BICEP will continue its foray into the music scene, always making an irresistible selection of tracks.
