Electric Forest attendees raise over $12k to support Lexx Lewis’ family after tragic death

Fellow Electric Forest attendees rally to raise funds for Lexx Lewis’s Family in the wake of his tragic passing.

Following Electric Forest first-timer Lexx Lewis’ unfortunate passing at the end of June, it’s been confirmed that $12,898 has been raised to help his family say their final goodbyes. Every penny raised from the GoFundMe launched by Lewis’s older brother, Ramse Maldonado, aided with covering the costs of transporting his body back to where his family resides in Philadelphia.

On June 24, 2024, Michigan State Police confirmed that the 34-year-old passed away after being transported to a nearby hospital from the festival grounds. His sudden and unexpected passing left a significant void in the community, prompting many to seek ways to honor his memory and support his grieving family during this difficult time.

This incredible fundraising effort was largely due to the proper utilization of social media platforms to spread the news and outreach to encourage support from fellow Electric Forest goers and ravers within the EDM community. Lewis’ GoFundMe campaign was originally set to raise $10,000, but this amount was surpassed by almost $3,000 over time, reflecting the deep impact Lewis had on those who knew him.

Along with helping transport Lewis’ body from Rothbury, Michigan to the East Coast, the $12,898 raised went directly to Lewis’ family to assist with additional funeral expenses and provide financial relief during their time of need. These generous contributions from the raver community have been met with heartfelt gratitude from Lewis’ family.
