HARD Summer Festival causes loud booming vibrations leading to noise complaints across LA area

The local police department has informed El Segundo residents surrounding the HARD Summer Festival that there is no need to call 911.

Located at SoFi Stadium, HARD Summer has hosted their 15th annual music festival. The 2024 festival lineup included a broad range of house music, bass, and experimental with artists such as Mary Droppinz, Rezz, Chris Lake, Zeds Dead, Nelly Furtado, Sub Focus, HoneyLuv, and Deadmau5.

Surely, this impressive lineup came with fun times, summer serotonin, and unforgettable memories. Unfortunately, the residual effects of a good time will travel outside of the festival grounds with instigated negativity.

The El Segundo Police Department sent a tweet letting residents know that they are aware of the “loud booming sound” affecting the area. Furthermore, the police department informs residents that the festival will occur from 2 pm to 11 pm. Lastly, the police department emphasizes to residents that there is no urgent need to call 911.

According to Twitter replies under the police department’s tweet, there are mixed opinions on the situation at hand. However, the common opinion shows that residents may be overreacting.

Other Twitter users such as @EliRDemocracy counteracted the noise complaints with their personal opinion as an Inglewood resident. The user stated, “I’m an Inglewood resident, and we voted for Sofi Stadium to stay in Inglewood and I live 3 min away from the stadium, and I didn’t hear anything. El Segundo residents are a min away from the LAX airport, and they don’t complain about airplanes landing and take off noises”.

Twitter users such as @felicia_ill changed their address on Nextdoor, a social media app that connects neighbors based on their location, to see what was occurring in the area. Moreover, the user explained how she enjoyed reading up on all the neighbors reporting live about the extravagant music festival.

Yoooo, the homies call me Marz. I am a multidimensional Piscean Latina fairy from Miami-Dade County (no, not Florida). Electronic music has allowed me to appreciate the profound beauty that can be found in finding peace within the chaos. Artists such as Rezz, Skrillex, John Summit, Michael Bibi, and Amtrac blend the two seamlessly, creating a harmonious balance that resonates with me whenever I am on the dancefloor. When I am writing about electronic music, I feel this same balance of peace and chaos moving through me - starting in my hips, filling my heart, and radiating out from my soul. The power of music has brought me to this exact moment, and I only desire that you feel the warmth of the sun through my words.
