6 Things to Keep in Mind When Preparing for Elements Festival 2024

What to know before you head to the Northeast’s premier festival experience: Elements Music Festival 2024.

Exron Music has been frequenting Elements since the beginning. We’ve experienced all facets of this sacred event through a venue change, dozens of headliner sets, new friendships, campsites that feel like home, and more. Although each year brings exciting new experiences, there are a few things you can always anticipate when returning to Elements.

1. This is no New York City

One of the aspects of Elements that allows it to remain an absolute treasure is its seclusion from major points of civilization. Those of you traveling from NYC and Philly will especially appreciate the serene atmosphere Elements offers and the opportunity to reconnect with nature. The festival strategically chose this destination to ensure fans can fully immerse themselves in Mother Earth, free from the stress and chaos of big city life.

Thankfully, the venue is close to several gas stations, drugstores, shopping centers, and even a few restaurants in case you end up needing supplies before or after the event. If you’re not camping and staying at a hotel or other local accommodation, keep in mind that late-night food and rideshare options will be limited. (P.S. If all else fails, there’s a Wawa located about 20 minutes from the venue.)

If you are camping, the festival has you covered with 24-hour food vendors offering organic, vegan, and gluten-free food options. So don’t fret!

2. Elements Festival is about much more than the music

We know, the Elements 2024 lineup is incredible, but there’s a lot more to see here!

Many festivals attempt to blend various aspects of art and community to deliver a full-spectrum experience to guests, but not all festivals do so quite like Elements. That’s because Elements is literally built on the foundation of the four elements: water, wind, earth, and fire. Each element has its own stage, adorned with stunning visual art that eloquently complements its sonic counterpart.

Another thing Elements does really well is incorporate the community aspect of gatherings. The festival offers daily soul-nourishing workshops such as yoga, dance, sound baths, and more, allowing you to connect deeply with yourself and your fellow Elements guests.

Also unique to the festival are Vibe Villages, which enable groups to camp together and express their creativity at their campsite. You’ll find a ton to do at Elements other than listen to music, though with a lineup like that, you’d already have more than enough to do!

3. There’s no single “main” stage

As mentioned, the festival sets up various “main” stages based on the theme of the element they’re named after. Just as all natural elements are equal, no one stage takes precedence over another. Of course, the ten total stages vary in size and music style, adding to the incredible diversity that Elements has to offer.

“I’m at the Water Stage next to the glow-in-the-dark alien with a bucket hat” has a nice ring to it!

4. You’ll be in the woods outside of a raceway

Elements Festival is uniquely located on the grounds of the famous Pocono Raceway, allowing both staff and attendees access to excellent facilities that help the event run smoothly. While the raceway provides the infrastructure needed for a seamless experience, the true magic happens just beyond it in the beautiful, wooded area that Elements has called home.

Surrounded by nature, the festival leverages the outdoors to create an immersive, nature-focused experience where the music and scenery blend harmoniously. Expect to be enveloped by the sights and sounds of the forest.

While the wooded setting offers a sense of escape, the raceway facilities ensure that entry and exit are structured and efficient, making your arrival and departure stress-free. Whether you’re setting up camp or exploring the grounds, you’ll enjoy the best of both worlds—a celebration of nature and the reliability of modern amenities.

5. Don’t forget to explore the art cars

Every year, Elements draws some of the most famous art cars from around the country to its beloved festival. They make great spots to meet new friends and view performances. Guests are encouraged to climb onto the cars and make themselves at home. Don’t be afraid to say hello to the driver and hop on!

6. The grounds are sacred… so leave no trace!

Last but not least, familiarize yourself with the history of the festival grounds and respect them deeply.

Before European settlers arrived, the Pocono Mountains were inhabited by indigenous peoples, particularly the Lenape tribe, also known as the Delaware Indians. These tribes had a profound connection with the land, living in harmony with the environment by hunting, gathering, and fishing to sustain themselves.

The Lenape’s way of life was deeply spiritual, centered around animism and communal rituals that honored the land and its resources. However, the arrival of European colonists brought significant disruption, leading to the displacement and assimilation of native tribes. Despite these challenges, the rich legacy of the Lenape and other indigenous peoples continues to shape the cultural heritage of the Pocono Mountains.

As you visit Elements Festival, remember that this land holds historical significance and deserves to be treated with respect. Be mindful and ensure you leave no trace behind!

I've been a part of the dance music scene for nearly a decade and with Exron for more than half of that time. My first event was Diplo's Mad Decent but these days you'll find me at Club Space or the Brooklyn Mirage. Some of my top artists are G Jones, Tipper, Of The Trees, and CharlestheFirst. My favorite genres are techno, experimental bass, and ambient but I'll get down to anything with a beat!
