Azzecca Launches New Party Brand ‘Cosimea’ During ARC Festival After Dark
Azzecca has announced the launch of her new party brand ‘Cosimea’ with its debut show taking place at ARC Festival After Dark.
In the heart of Chicago’s buzzing electronic music scene, DJ and producer Azzecca has unveiled her latest project including a new party brand, ‘Cosimea’. This electrifying debut of her event series will occur at one of the afterparties for the ARC Music Festival. The event will take place on August 30th at the renowned Smartbar, a venue steeped in history that has witnessed legendary performances from Frankie Knuckles, Derrick Carter, and The Blessed Madonna.
But what is ‘Cosimea’? Azzecca notes this event series as the next evolution of her previous event series, ‘Dirty Disco,’ which was celebrated for its focus on female safety and inclusivity. Azzecca aims to expand on this ethos, creating a safe space for all communities to enjoy the cosmic vibes and emerging talents that the event series will spotlight.
She sheds light on her humble beginnings with ‘Dirty Disco‘ in her official announcement. She states “I wanted to give a massive thank you to everyone who has supported ‘Dirty Disco ‘over these past few years. From my friends who helped me hang $.99 flowers and disco balls over dancefloors, to everyone who came and smiled and danced with us, and especially all of the artists whose sound selections guided our nights together.”
As Azzecca looks forward to the future, she reflects on the transition from ‘Dirty Disco’ to ‘Cosimea.’ Despite owning the ‘Dirty Disco’ name and trademark, Azzecca graciously handed it over to a collective in Texas out of respect for queer spaces in dance music. This gesture allowed her to create a new project that feels like a true extension of her brand.
