Kasablanca announces debut album ‘Higher Resolution’ following lead singer’s cancer battle

After a hiatus because of cancer treatment, Kasablanca has released the debut single from their first album ‘Higher Resolution’ and confirmed that it is coming out in October.

Kasablanca has dropped “Daydream,” their debut album’s first single and collaboration with anamē. The melodic house single has been fit for summer with an infectious beat and vocals from Everyone You Know. The song was included on the ‘Anjunadeep 15’ compilation in spring and had been met with solid support from both fanbases.

Micky of Kasablanca announced at the beginning of this year that he had been diagnosed with cancer. After being rushed into emergency surgery, the artist had been forced to cancel several shows to focus on treatment and recovery. He shared in a vulnerable post that his doctors had been confident that he would make a full recovery.

The duo went on to collaborate with Lane 8 on “Remission” and then released “Terminal Feeling,” the two songs being an ode to Micky’s cancer battle. Since returning from hiatus, Kasablanca has taken the main stage at Ultra, EDC, Bonnaroo, and more.

anamē premiered “Daydream” live at the Anjunadeep Explorations Festival in June to a packed crowd. Despite sounding more upbeat than previous Kasablanca releases, the single carries a darker tone and blends the groups’ sounds evenly.
