Timmy Trumpet: From classical roots to EDM stardom

Timmy Trumpet has become one of the top DJs and producers nowadays but his humble beginnings as a trumpeter carved the way for his success. 

Within the realm of electronic dance music, Timmy Trumpet, born Timothy Jude Smith, has stood out as a beacon of artistry. Timmy’s unique blend of trumpet melodies intertwined with high-energy dance beats has carved out a distinctive niche for him in the constantly evolving world of electronic music, setting him apart from his peers. But, where did his musical journey begin?

Well, from a young age, Timmy’s musical journey, was rooted in classical training. Encouraged by his father, a jazz trumpeter, Timmy picked up the trumpet at the age of four. His prodigious talent soon became evident, earning him a scholarship to the prestigious Sydney Conservatorium of Music. This classical foundation, coupled with his jazz influences, laid the groundwork for the innovative sound that would later define his career in EDM. His early experiences with music not only honed his technical skills but also instilled a sense of discipline and creativity that continues to drive his artistic endeavors.

As Timmy matured, his musical repertoire expanded, venturing beyond the conventional realms of classical and jazz. Electronic music’s vibrant energy captivated him, offering an uncharted territory for experimentation and self-expression. This transition, though gradual, was destined to happen. Timmy ingeniously merged his trumpet prowess with DJ sets, creating a mesmerizing, novel, and captivating fusion. His breakthrough moment arrived in 2014 with the release of “Freaks,” a collaboration with Savage that became a global sensation. 

Since then he has released multiple hits and developed a fan base worldwide. His live shows are a sensory explosion, blending his virtuosic trumpet skills with pulsating electronic beats and visually stunning production and certainly, making him a crowd favorite at major EDM festivals, including Tomorrowland, Ultra Music Festival, and EDC Las Vegas.

Although his journey to the world of electronic dance music is quite different than others, fans and industry leaders alike are lucky to have him.
