Tucker Halpern and Sophie Hawley-weld of Sofi Tukker Take to Instagram to celebrate their Friendship.

Sofi Tukker has taken to Instagram to celebrate their friendship. The duo joined forces at Brown University over a decade ago, making music together since. Tucker Halpern and Sophie Hawley-Weld are not dating or together – they are best friends who create music and art together.

It is often rumored that Sophie and Tucker are dating since they spend so much time together on the road, touring, and in the studio. However, they have frequently said they are not together. It is one of the most common misconceptions regarding the pair.

A video montage of some of their best moments together makes up the adorable reel shared to the joint Sofi Tukker account. Set over one of their new tracks “Hey Homie” off their newest ‘BREAD’ album, the video’s caption reads, “Reminder: some of the best relationships you will ever have are not the romantic ones.” An almost blooper-like highlight reel of their friendship moments plays on the screen.

One fan comments, “We need to celebrate platonic relationships!!” Other fans fawn over the idea of the friends-to-lovers trope. One fan wrote, “And then sometimes there’s a plot twist and you fall in love with your best friend .”

Sofi Tukker has had a spectacular year. They have released a new album, walked in fashion shows, and had Heidi Klum star in one of their music videos. They also played at Coachella, have a Las Vegas residency, and are currently on tour. The ‘BREAD’ tour heads to the States at the end of September.

Sofi Tukker is a testament to the power of friendship. Not only is friendship one of the most pure relationship types, but it has been a caveat of accomplishment for the duo by having their favorite friend by their side.

Hey! I'm Shiv! Music is the greatest part of my life, I remember discovering dubstep when I was 15/16 and my entire life was altered - robot noises?? I needed MORE! Now, I live in NYC and have seen over 60 artists of all genres; my favorites being Odesza, Subtronics, Rezz, Griz, Zeds Dead, John Summit and Kaskade. I am an enjoyer of music and will try everything once, I do not discriminate - there is beauty in all genres (minus country). You can usually find me in a warehouse at 4AM because I am nocturnal and will quite literally never say no to a show.
