Slushii cancels slew of shows on North American tour due to ‘health concerns’

Slushii has made an “important tour update” based on ongoing health issues.

Slushii has canceled and postponed a handful of shows on his tour due to ongoing health concerns after being, ‘instructed by [his] doctors to take some time off the road.” However, he has not disclosed what the health concern is.

It has been announced that nine shows have been canceled in cities including New York, San Diego, and Dallas. Other cities include Seattle, Sioux Falls, Minneapolis, Houston, Tempe, and Kansas City. There is no clear understanding of which shows are indefinitely canceled or just postponed.

Fans have been flooding Slushii’s social media with comments of support since the announcement. Some include, “You’ve been on the road for that fattest minute. Take your break and get well soon dawg” and “Heal fast my friend.” Another user wrote, ”Take care of yourself, ya legend 🙌🏾 the fans ain’t going nowhere.”

Slushii kicked off his global tour, CHASING SUMMER in May and has done around half the shows thus far. He even released a new single, “Worse Night of My Life” during the tour’s first leg.

Slushii has been open about his mental health in the past by discussing his past experiences. He recently revealed information about a mental health scare he faced last year. Slushii took to Twitter to share his struggle with addiction as well as his gratitude for surviving an overdose.

This isn’t the first instance where an artist has had to cancel or postpone shows to protect their mental health. Other members of the music community such as Disclosure, San Holo, Levity, and Lane 8 have opened up about their mental health journeys. My favorite thing in the whole world is music and after hearing "One" by Swedish House Mafia for the first time in 2014, I was hooked on EDM. Dance music has been a large part of who I am and will always be searching for new ways to incorporate it in my life. The pure bliss that I feel from live shows is a feeling I never want to stop chasing (iykyk). Some of my favorite artists are Flume, Rüfüs Du Sol, Mindchatter, Disclosure, Dom Dolla and Fred Again.. :)
