Chris Lake partners with MNTGE for limited edition Black Book Records merchandise capsule for NYC takeover

Chris Lake has partnered with MNTGE on a limited edition capsule for Black Book Records merchandise to commemorate his NYC takeover.

This weekend’s Black Book Records NYC takeover will allow fans to commemorate the show with special merch. Label boss Chris Lake has partnered with fashion brand MNTGE for a limited edition fashion capsule that uses chip technology for special access.

The brand uses technology-enabled integration in its clothing, with a digital token attached to the physical NFC chip. The collection includes a concert t-shirt, an embroidered Levi’s Trucker jacket, and a matching embroidered dad hat.

The digital wearable brand incorporates blockchain technology into its garments for pieces that are verifiably authentic and wholly unique. Per the MNTGE and Black Book Records collaboration, collection owners gain exclusive access to the label.

Through the chip-tap feature, collection owners receive exclusive presale codes for an upcoming Chris Lake show. They will also have access to Black Book’s newest compilation of IDs a week before public access on July 26.

This compilation marks the eighth release for Black Book ID’s, with Chapter 8 featuring Cloonee, and Banglaboy’s highly-anticipated label debut. Owners of the collection can also upload show content directly to a portal that Chris Lake can access, for a shot at being featured on his social platforms.

In this collaboration, Black Book Records created the designs, while MNTGE supplied the clothing. The result is a tech-forward collaboration that allows fans to participate in a new and exciting way.

This collaboration wouldn’t be the first brush with electronic music for MNTGE, since one of the advisors for the brand is the DJ Blond:Ish. MNTGE co-founder Sean Wotherspoon previously collaborated with Nike, which explains the brand’s streetwear vibe.

Black Book on the Pier kicks off on July 19 for two nights of dance music with support from Chris Lorenzo on Friday night and Green Velvet on Saturday night. To celebrate the release, MNTGE and Black Book Records will host a pop-up on Saturday, July 20 in Brooklyn. The capsule’s online collection is now live.
