GORDO to release debut album ‘DIAMANTE’ executive-produced by Drake

Drake has taken a break from beefing with rappers to executive produce ‘DIAMANTE,’ the DEBUT album FROM GORDO.

GORDO confirms he and Drake are working together again, this time on ‘DIAMANTE,’ the producer’s debut album under his new stage name. The world-renowned DJ enlisted the Canadian rapper as the executive producer in his first-ever electronic album credit.

‘DIAMANTE’ borrows from GORDO’s real name Diamante Blackmon. It marks the new official chapter for GORDO since he departed from his previous moniker Carnage back in 2022.

In May, GORDO teased fans with an Instagram story of him and Drake with the caption “you guys ready for summer 2024…” Now, we are officially in that season, and GORDO is ready to share his work with Drake.

Previously, GORDO contributed to six tracks on Drake’s house-infused album, ‘Honestly, Nevermind’ (2022). GORDO then contributed to Drake’s latest album, ‘For All the Dogs,’ by producing “Rich Baby Daddy.” His production on “Gently” featured Drake and Bad Bunny as collaborators, which marked a new high for Blackmon’s GORDO chapter. Up next, ‘DIAMANTE’ will be “the most emotional project” to date for the Grammy-nominated artist.

The first full-length feature under his new stage name consists of work with artists that GORDO looks up to and feels inspired by. This includes his longtime friend and frequent collaborator, Drake. It’s clear that GORDO has mainstream appeal, but ‘DIAMANTE’ is set to be his most personal release yet. The album pays homage to his family, friends, and loved ones while celebrating his success.

‘DIAMANTE’ is projected to be a colorful collection of fusion melodies and global-inspired tracks. So far, the collaborators that have been revealed are Nicki Nicole, Sech, Feid, Young Dolph, and Maluma. The 15-track release will debut on July 26, though the official tracklist is not out just yet. Based on his EDM roots and past collaborations with Adriatique and The Martinez Brothers, fans can anticipate ‘DIAMANTE’ to push beyond traditional genre boundaries.
