Above & Beyond’s Tony McGuinness announces first solo album away from supergroup and reveals first single

Tony McGuinness, a member of the renowned electronic music trio Above & Beyond, has announced the release of his first solo album, ‘Salt.’

This album marks a significant departure from Tony MgGuiness’ work with the supergroup, bringing him back to his roots in solo music production. McGuinness has expressed his excitement about this project, sharing that it represents a return to the music he was creating before Above & Beyond took shape.

McGuinness has revealed that the album features songs from the 90s, which he has described as an indulgence in nostalgia. The first single from the album, “Biker Babe,” has already been released, accompanied by a full-length version of “Babydoll White.” Fans can watch the music video for “Biker Babe” on the Above & Beyond YouTube channel.

The album, titled ‘Salt’, is set to be released on July 12, and pre-orders for the CD are now available. McGuinness has highlighted that CDs were the primary medium for music consumption in the 90s, adding a sentimental touch to the project.

To celebrate the release, McGuinness has planned a listening party in London on the evening of July 11. Tickets for this event will be available soon, as announced on his social media channels. McGuinness has shared his joy in completing this album after 27 years, hoping that his fans will appreciate and enjoy the music as much as he has.

In his announcement, McGuinness has extended special thanks to Bob Bradley, Tim Hutton, Molly Leighton, and Shelley, expressing his gratitude for their contributions and support. This solo project has allowed McGuinness to explore new aspects of his songwriting, transitioning from fiction to the true stories that continue to inspire his music today.

Fans and music enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the release of ‘Salt,’ as they look forward to experiencing a different side of Tony McGuinness’ musical journey. For fans of Above & Beyond, there’s no need to worry as the esteemed trio is here to stay despite its member’s efforts to produce music individually.
