Mayan Warrior Introduces New Art Car Concept For Burning Man After The Original Was Destroyed In 2023 Fire
Mayan Warrior announces a resilient resurrection of their art car design while remaining congruent with its original philosophy.
Mayan Warrior demonstrates strong resiliency following the brand’s tragic art car destruction at Burning Man last year. Despite 2023’s unfortunate series of events, Mayan Warrior founder Pablo Gonzalez Vargas has expressed that he believes this devastating fire was an opportunity for an art car design rebirth.
The famous art car will remain in alignment with the group’s philosophy to create transformative experiences that bring people together through music and art. The spirit of the Mayan Warrior continues to remain alive with the debut of its next chapter: ‘Mayan Warrior Galaxyer’, along with the announcement of the imprint’s forthcoming Halloween event on October 26th, 2024 in Los Angeles.
For this exciting new venture, Pablo Gonzalez is collaborating with Alvaro Manzo on the conceptual design and Paolo Montiel on the lasers and lighting system of the futuristic Mayan spaceship. The new art car will embody the soul of the last Mayan Warrior, a spiritual realm traveling through space, time, and the cosmos.
The founder of the organization stays optimistic about the destruction and rebirth of the art car. The founder comments surrounding the launch of this new art car saying, “Let this be a portal to higher alternate states of consciousness of transcendental self-discovery.”
The famous art car, with its music and state-of-the-art technology, is an essential part of the ethos of Burning Man. The art project has hosted sets from producers and DJs such as Monolink, Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin, DJ Tennis, and Damian Lazarus.
Although the Mayan Warrior group has minimized the number of fundraising events from twelve to four, Pablo Gonzalez Vargas reassures fans that the art car will remain aligned with its original philosophy of community, connection, cultural celebration, giving back, and artistic expression. In collaboration with LA-based events company Stranger Than, this rendition of the new art car will debut to the public at the LA Halloween event mentioned above. This will serve as the first off-play appearance of the new art car following Burning Man in August of this year.
