Illenium cancels Toronto double-header after surgery complications

Illenium has put recovery first following some surgery complications.

Illenium has canceled his Toronto double-header following some surgery complications. With dismay and reluctance, the well-known producer has put his health first while he navigates these complications. He has already delayed the show once, initially intended to be at the end of June at Rebel in Toronto.

While fans have readjusted to the new dates at the beginning of September, the somber news about his surgery has left many Illenium followers dispirited. Moreover, Nicholas Miller (Illenium’s real name) has revealed his own fury about missing shows. At first, the DJ mentioned the surgery would only slow him down during the performance, but days later he pulled out entirely.

This has not been the first of Illenium’s health complications. In 2012, he nearly experienced a deathly overdose of heroin, shaking the community at its core. Since then, he has made a staggering recovery, shedding light on his own health progress through music.

Providing fans with visceral and pulsating performances at venues such as Madison Square Garden, Red Rocks Amphitheater, and more, he has proven to himself and others that he found a promising path to walk down. He has even put on his own festival Ember Shores in Cancun. Undoubtedly, he has envisioned a new, better life for himself.

Like many others, I often dive into a variety of music genres and explore, as best I can, what resonates while I listen. For me, EDM is a dense subset of music with unique artistry and textured sounds - a facet of melody and tune that I will always investigate.
