G-Eazy opens up about ‘love and loss’ on 10th anniversary of These Things Happen album

Ten years after the release of his album, the Rapper G-Eazy has shared his feelings about his love and loss on his Instagram.

Rapper G-Eazy, also known as Gerald Earl Gillum, has been celebrating the tenth anniversary of the launch of his first album, ‘These Things Happen.’ Released in 2014, G-Eazy reflects on his love and loss in a recent Instagram post honoring this decade.

G-Eazy writes, “Ten years ago I dropped my first major label album These Things Happen. A lot was going thru my head… It was a mix of delusional level confidence and naivety that I could do what nobody expected and make my dreams come true – mixed with a sense of crippling anxiety and fear of the unknown. What if it didn’t work? What if it flopped and I got dropped?” Notably, G-Eazy has been linked to many A-Listers, such as his cheating scandal with Halsey, his co-singer on “U And I.”

G-Eazy goes on to write about how he has faced the ups and downs of life, writing, “Ten years and 5 albums later we’re here. I’m older I’ve lived a lot more life. I’ve won, I’ve lost. I’ve fallen in love I’ve experienced heartbreak. I’ve gained a lot. I’ve also suffered loss.” G-Eazy has also has ventured into different spaces, such as the world of NFTs.

Wrapping up his sentimental post, Gerald writes, “But thru it all I’m grateful I get to grow and live life and document it in my work, still to this day. All the way to releasing my new album on the same week on the same label TEN YEARS LATER. This doesn’t just happen to kids like me. Grateful! Every album won’t be the same, it’s important to live and grow and evolve and I’ll always take risks in my art, whether or not everyone follows or gets it, that’s what it’s all about.
Love you all for following me on this crazy journey.”

Hey! I'm Shiv! Music is the greatest part of my life, I remember discovering dubstep when I was 15/16 and my entire life was altered - robot noises?? I needed MORE! Now, I live in NYC and have seen over 60 artists of all genres; my favorites being Odesza, Subtronics, Rezz, Griz, Zeds Dead, John Summit and Kaskade. I am an enjoyer of music and will try everything once, I do not discriminate - there is beauty in all genres (minus country). You can usually find me in a warehouse at 4AM because I am nocturnal and will quite literally never say no to a show.

What's your reaction?
