Grabbitz teases collaboration with GRiZ as fans beg artist to return from ongoing hiatus

Griz, who is currently on a hiatus, has been tapped for a collaboration with Grabbitz, as teased on social media.

Last year, GRiZ announced his decision to take an indefinite hiatus from his project. The artist, whose real name is Grant Richard Kwiecinski, would step back from performing, opting to “chill and enjoy life.”

After his Instagram went offline in October (“Time to sign off for a while”), fans have been begging Kwiecinski to bring GRiZ back to life. He was recently spotted in the studio freestyling, but thanks to producer Grabbitz, we may now see a proper GRiZ revival.

While the GRiZ project has gone quiet, Grabbitz (real name Nicholas Chiari) has a career that is currently in bloom. The artist recently performed at Lost Lands, and has new music coming soon. Grabbitz will release his ‘In The Dark’ EP on June 28, as his first release on Blue Butterfly Records.

Grabbitz shared on Instagram that he has “been cooking,” tagging GRiZ in a photo snapped of them. The rest of the post shared clips of Chiari in the studio, working with various collaborators.

Could it be that this is the long-awaited return of GRiZ? His social channels have been quiet all of 2024, but this tease from Grabbitz is enough to stir the pot.

On X, formerly known as Twitter, Grabbitz shared a different caption for his photo with GRiZ. Chiari revealed that he “got to make some art with a legend,” then tagged GRiZ’s account, which has been quiet.

Is this “art” in the room with us right now? And by that, we mean: will this GRiZ collaboration make it on the Grabbitz EP slated for release this Friday?

The forthcoming EP ‘In The Dark’ marks a new chapter for Grabbitz, and its three tracks are sure to highlight this new height in his career. Meanwhile, Wooli dropped his unreleased collaboration with GRiZ at Electric Forest last weekend.

It’s no telling what’s up next for GRiZ, but it’s nice to hear from him amidst his hiatus. But fans are hoping that this “GRibbitz” collaboration will drop soon.
