Tyler, the Creator drops out of Lollapalooza and Outside Lands

Tyler, the Creator has announced that he can no longer perform at Lollapalooza or Outside Lands this summer.

The multi-faceted artist had been set to headline both festivals this August but dropped out due to personal issues. No further reasoning has been given at this time. Fans were understandably disappointed by the rapper unexpectedly backing out of two events.

Both events had quickly swapped Tyler, the Creator out with other performers. Megan Thee Stallion has been invited to close out Lollapalooza on August 1 and Sabrina Carpenter will headline Outside Lands on August 10. Reactions to the new headliners have been mixed, with many pointing out the differences in the artists’ music.

“I made a commitment that I can no longer keep, and that bums me out knowing how excited folks were. That is not sexy at all. Please please forgive me or call me names when you see me in person,” Tyler, the Creator wrote.

The artist has played Lollapalooza before and headlined the iconic festival in 2018 and 2021. He played Outside Lands in 2021 and attendees had been awaiting his return. The cancellations followed Tyler, the Creator’s performance at The Pop Out: Ken & Friends with Kendrick Lamar.

Apart from his sets on both Coachella weekends, Tyler, the Creator has not performed this year. He has not dropped any music either, despite speculation from his fans. Along with making music, he is also a fashion designer and has worked with Louis Vuitton for several years.

Even though he has dropped out of Lollapalooza and Outside Lands, Tyler, the Creator is currently on the lineup for Austin City Limits this October. There is also a possibility of his festival Camp Flog Gnaw returning this year. Listen to his latest release ‘CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST.’
