Inside the up-and-coming artists featured in Lane 8’s summer 2024 mixtape

Lane 8 has returned with his latest seasonal mixtape for summer 2024, featuring tracks from a whole host of talented artists.

Since 2013, Denver-based melodic house maestro Lane 8 has come through for his fans four times every year with a new seasonal mixtape, a soundtrack to set the tone for the next few months. As summer 2024 kicks into gear, he has taken to Instagram to announce that the latest installment in the series has officially dropped on Apple Music, Soundcloud, and YouTube.

The three-hour summer 2024 mixtape consists of a grab-bag of melodic house tunes from Lane 8 himself – including many unreleased IDs – as well as a wide variety of other artists. While some big names can surely be found in the tracklist – Jamie xx, Elderbrook, Sultan + Shephard, Christian Löffler, Helsloot, Tinlicker– the mixtape once again acts as a means of exposure for up-and-coming artists that have caught Lane 8’s eye lately.

Among these artists is Sofia Kourtesis, a rising Peruvian DJ and producer who began releasing music in 2019. “Madres,” the title track from her debut album released last year, comes in hot as the second song in the mix to help get the melodies flowing. Sofia’s production talent is clear, and the selection at the very top of Lane 8’s mix only reinforces that big things are coming for her.

German talent Lexer contributes his newest track, “Closemouthed,” to the tracklist, bringing some dynamic energy to the mix. A dash of creative intrigue is added with “Hanten,” a fascinating collaboration from French artist Teho and the mysterious techno group Makoto San. Some very promising regulars of Lane 8’s This Never Happened label are sprinkled into the mix as well in the form of EMBRZ, Rinzen, Paradoks, JRJ, Huminal, and more. 

As is the norm with Lane 8’s seasonal mixtapes, there’s no shortage of emerging musical talent on tap for the summer 2024 edition. Check out the new mixtape below.
