Charli XCX gets flagged by British ad association for ‘inappropriate’ tour poster
Brat 2024 Arena Tour star Charli XCX claps back at U.K. advertisement backlash via tiktok.
English singer-songwriter Charli XCX takes to TikTok to defend her tour promotion advertising poster. The BRAT Arena Tour star says the online advertising association told her off and was quick to take down the U.K. tour poster, as it was “promoting bad things”. Charli XCX says in her TikTok they asked her to change it, but it was obviously a “sandwich bag”.
Charli added an actual sandwich to the new tour poster to eliminate any confusion. Stating “what else would you put in this, obviously – so bring your sandwich to the BRAT arena tour”. Captioning her TIkTok “duh!”.
The comments seem to fully support the singer’s thought process, leaving encouraging statements like “It’s obvi a CLUB classic like they just don’t get it”, “when I get to the pub I wanna eat a club sandwich” and “Speaks VOLUMES about what they’re up to at the advertising standards authority”.
The 31-year-old has a staggering 4.7M followers on Instagram alone and 2.1M on TikTok. The advertising backlash is sure to contribute to rising ticket sales.
