The organizers called off Sunday’s event at Hidden after a 20-year-old man became unwell early in the morning at the Manchester club and later passed away.
The organizers canceled Sunday’s event at Hidden after a 20-year-old man fell ill early in the morning at the Manchester club and subsequently died. The Greater Manchester Police reported that paramedics took the man from Hidden to a hospital at 2:30 a.m. The man’s identity continues to remain unknown, “Tragically, despite the best efforts of emergency services, he later passed away,” the statement reads.
According to the statement, authorities have initiated and are currently conducting an investigation into the cause of the man’s death. The nightclub, along with local promoter Teletech, who organized the Saturday evening party, issued a joint statement: “We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss that occurred at our venue in the early hours of this morning. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.”
The statement continues: “Hidden has always been a place for people to come together, enjoy music and culture in a safe space, and we are heartbroken by this incident. The safety and well-being of our customers and staff are always our top priority. In light of this tragedy, we have decided to cancel the event on Sunday as a mark of respect and to allow us to evaluate with our team.”
Hidden opened in 2015 after its owners began renovating an old cotton mill on the Mersey River in 2013. Decorated with graffiti, it promotes its underground-leaning events minimally, relying largely on word-of-mouth advertisement. The venue features artists such as Sam Paganini, Chaos in the CBD, Partiboi69, and Alix Perez.
Lastly, as we continue to investigate this incident internally, we at Exron Music send our deepest condolences to the young man’s friends and family.
