Ben Böhmer to release first studio album in 3 years
German musician Ben Böhmer has announced the arrival of ‘Bloom,’ his first studio album in three years.
The long awaited studio return of Ben Böhmer is finally here. The German producer will release ‘Bloom’ three years after his sophomoric album, ‘Begin Again,’ The upcoming third album follows Böhmer’s alliteration theme of “B,” which began with his debut release titled ‘Breathing.’
To accompany this news, Böhmer shares a new single with frequent collaborator JONAH. “Best Life” is a peppy, feel-good anthem that is perfect for the summer’s vibes. The track’s vocals echo themes of enjoying the ride that is life.
The song’s spirit affirms that though there may be ups and downs, it’s more important to live through every moment. Its infectious harmony and optimistic energy is a good fit for ‘Bloom,’ and matches Böhmer’s approach to his musical evolution.
‘Breathing’ addressed themes of grief, while ‘Begin Again’ tackled separation. ‘Bloom’ is slated to mark a new chapter of joy and creative expression. It’s an album that showcases his confident pursuit of his artistic desires, and may be his most dynamic release to date.
Böhmer recruits a roster of new talent to collaborate with on ‘Bloom.’ Joining him are vocalists like Oh Wonder, Lykke Li, and Malou. Enfant Sauvage, who is one half of French duo The Blaze, will also contribute to the album.
‘Bloom’ intends to feel like a breath of fresh air, with familiar air of nostalgia for his two previous albums. While reminiscent of ‘Breathing’ and ‘Begin Again,’ his third release marks an entirely new adventure, as it is his first release on Ninja Tune and away from Anjunadeep. They say good things take time, and three years is certainly the hallmark of that work.
To support ‘Bloom,’ Böhmer will hit the road for an 8-stop tour of live shows all over Europe and the UK. Before he returns to his home continent, the producer will be venturing all over the United States.
Currently, Böhmer is a supporting act for ODESZA’s ‘The Last Goodbye Finale’ tour. He holds summer festival bookings at Chicago’s Lollapalooza and San Francisco’s Portola Festival. Catch Böhmer on tour at a venue near you in anticipation of ‘Bloom,’ out September 27.
