Lilly Palmer has become one of the biggest names in modern techno, with sold-out shows, major festival appearances, and the release of her debut album. As her popularity continues to rise, fans have become increasingly curious about her personal life, particularly her marriage to fellow techno producer Egbert Van Der Gugten.

Palmer and Van Der Gugten tied the knot in July 2023 after several years together. Beyond his releases on labels such as Drumcode and Cocoon, Egbert has continued performing at respected techno institutions including ADE, Time Warp, and Awakenings. His six-hour solo performance at Amsterdam’s Melkweg in 2013 further cemented his longstanding reputation as one of the Netherlands’ most respected live techno artists.

Egbert has continued to make his mark on the modern techno landscape, most recently with “Nacht” on Natura Viva Black and his high-profile collaboration with Lilly Palmer, “Rotterdam, released through Armada Music in late 2025. He has also released music on Spannung Records, the techno imprint founded and operated by Palmer in 2020.

Egbert’s career continues to thrive, much like his wife Lilly. Lilly Palmer and Egbert Van Der Gugten form a dynamic duo in the techno world. Their mutual passion for music and their successes have made them a formidable pair, respected and admired by fans and peers alike.

Lilly Palmer and Egbert released their collaborative track “Rotterdam” in November 2025 ahead of Palmer’s debut album ‘Bigger Than Techno’. Released March 6, 2026, the 16-track album features “Rotterdam” as its fourth track. Palmer has described the collaboration as a tribute to Egbert’s Rotterdam roots and the city’s “roughness and realness.”
