ILLENIUM calls management ‘stupid’ and apologizes after fans criticize AI artwork
ILLENIUM has revealed that management is responsible for choosing AI show poster.
ILLENIUM has thrown his management under the bus, revealing responsibility for choosing AI artwork for his upcoming show poster. After receiving criticism from fans about the AI-generated art for his San Francisco show, ILLENIUM had to address the situation.
Usually the artwork ILLENIUM uses on his projects is created by his wife Lara McWhorter. Fans noticed a change in the artwork and discovered that it must be computer-made. Over the years, the artwork for ILLENIUM’s music has resonated with fans at a profound level.
ILLENIUM jumped onto Twitter to explain to fans that it was a managerial decision to use the AI art. For this poster, he revealed that his management paid and worked with a designer on a few options. Revealing that his team had created an AI version to help conceptualize the vision he wanted to portray for the poster.
He writes, “My mgmt ended up using the ai art because they’re stupid and have no taste. However, we still worked with designers to create the final result.” He calls out how the team realize that “a few elements were sloppy and missed by us,” in regards to the AI version. Promising that new artwork will be coming soon.
Other DJs have chimed in the talked about decisions from management including John Summit and Rezz. Summit commented on the thread, “the mgmt dunk lmfaoooo if we had it their way flyers would just be date & location w ticket link via notes app.”
ILLENIUM will be playing back-to-back weekend performances at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco. He will be playing four shows, on July 19th, 20th, 26th, and 27th.
