Adam Beyer dips outside techno with 3-track EP featuring indie and electro influences

Swedish producer Adam Beyer has released the genre-defying EP ‘Ghost Kiss,’ for a journey outside his typical techno realm.

Drumcode Records label boss Adam Beyer takes us on an adventure with his latest EP ‘Ghost Kiss.’ The techno titan steps outside his typical sound for a genre-defying exploration across three tracks.

The EP’s eponymous track has a sound that entirely commands your attention, especially with its menacing vocals. “Ghost Kiss” is an ominous and unnerving take on techno that breeds morbid curiosity about what is next to come.

Track two, “Pilot,” has a synth-fused ambiance reminiscent of the 80’s. The masqueraded android vocals exude a Daft Punk vibe, for a future wave track that ushers the EP to its next phase. “Jack” is the big finale of ‘Ghost Kiss,’ with a punch of drums that hit hard and fast. The track’s mid-point vocals of “time to jack” indicate the song’s intent, with a melodic twist to shift the dance floor’s vibe.

According to Beyer, this EP marks a milestone in the longtime artist’s career. It’s his “favorite solo EP” from the last few years, as he explains that he’s hammered the tracks to the point where they feel like “A-side material.” All tracks from ‘Ghost Kiss’ represent “a strong emotion” for the Swedish producer. Beyer’s main goal with the release was to make music that stands out from all other sounds right now.

Up next, Beyer, fresh from EDC Vegas, will play a combination of solo shows and Drumcode showcases around the globe. This month, he kicks off his global journey in South America for shows in Argentina and Colombia. The Drumcode Founder then heads to the White Isle to support Eric Prydz presents CELL at his Hï Ibiza summer residency.

In between the Prydz shows, Beyer will bounce throughout Europe for various festivals like Sonus in Croatia. This September, he will be performing twice during Amnesia Ibiza’s Pyramid Sunday residency. His next United States tour date is set to take place at San Diego’s CRSSD later that month.
