Watch deadmau5 troll Grimes during EDC Vegas performance

deadmau5’s infamous trolling has returned in full force.

EDC Las Vegas had an incredible lineup featuring John Summit, Armin Van Buuren, and Purple Disco Machine, to name a few. Festival attendees had the chance to see the well-known and always iconic Deadmau5 on Sunday, May 19. This particular performance went viral as Deadmau5 chose to use his set as an opportunity to troll dance/electronic artist Grimes

On Saturday, April 13, the scene opens at Coachella weekend one. Grimes took the stage at Sahara and surprised many fans when the second half of her set essentially went up in flames. Grimes first tried explaining to her audience about the technical difficulties and eventually was shouting into the mic as she attempted to fix the issues.

As fans watched, many filmed the unfortunate event which led to many trolling Grimes on X and other social media platforms. The clips of her struggle went viral, and one of these clips inspired Deadmau5’s iconic troll at EDC Las Vegas. The clip that was highlighted during his set shows Grimes trying to dictate how “complex the technology is”  and “how it is hard to explain what is going on”.

The viral video of Deadmau5 shows the music abruptly stopping as the clip of Grimes being confused is blown up on the screen behind him. The clip was then overlayed with a bunch of math equations floating around that were reminiscent of the circa 2010s Twitter Confused Math Lady meme which only added to the hilarity of it all.

This is not the first time Deadmau5 has gone viral for trolling another celeb during a set. From Kanye West to Marshmello to Skrillex, Deadmau5 has valiantly battled them all. Don’t forget his long-running battle with Disney.

Deadmau5 did recently seem to take a break from his trolling and online battles, but this was his solid return to his typical status quo. The trolling can only get more iconic from here on out, and fans are of course heavily entertained and waiting for the next meme-able moment.
