Nelly Furtado recruits electronic legends Tove Lo and SG Lewis for new single
Pop sensation Nelly Furtado has continued her comeback era with “Love Bites,” a new single in collaboration with Tove Lo and SG Lewis.
Is Grammy winner Nelly Furtado, who first rose to popularity in the early aughts, currently in her EDM era? In January 2023, the pop sensation joined Dom Dolla’s set at his home country’s Beyond the Valley Festival.
Their collaboration became official with “Eat Your Man,” which led to a stint of Ibiza parties that sparked dating rumors between them. Furtado then joined him on stage at Lollapalooza, which generated additional buzz that matched their ultimate party anthem.
The legendary pop star then earned a time slot of her own at San Francisco’s Portola Music Festival. This booking was a surprising move from the Goldenvoice team, but it proved to be a cutting-edge decision. She’s increased her following, with some fans not even born yet when “I’m Like a Bird” topped the charts in 2000.
While 2023 could definitely be considered the start of her comeback era, she is actually just getting started. For her next trick, Furtado recruits pop icon Tove Lo and electronic producer SG Lewis for “Love Bites.” Together, the three musicians concoct a certified club banger that will definitely smash the summer airwaves.
The two pop stars lend their sultry vocals over a thumping house beat, resulting in an intoxicating dance anthem. “Love Bites” radiates the energy of what it feels like to hit the dance floor and leave your troubles behind.
She continues her takeover of the electronic music scene with bookings at iconic summer festivals like Electric Forest and HARD. Though she wasn’t always known for dance music, her music is popular enough to power her comeback at full steam. She earned official remixes from DJs, like Boys Noize on “Hot-n-Fun,” her track with N.E.R.D, and Axwell on “Promiscuous,” her smash single with Timbaland.
