Project Glow earns title of DC’s premier dance music festival
Project Glow returned to the nation’s capital for its third edition at RFK Stadium with a star-studded lineup
Celebrating its third edition in Washington DC, Insomniac and Club Glow delivered an all-encompassing experience with Project Glow. The two-day festival welcomed 25,000 fans per day to revel in some of dance music’s finest acts including Zedd, Lane 8, Elderbrook, REZZ, ILLENIUM, and many more. Project Glow also debuted a brand new festival layout which eased the flow of attendees and upgraded the VIP experience spanning the two main stages: Eternal and Pulse.
Day 1 kicked off on Saturday, April 27 as fans flooded the RFK Stadium Campus eager for the weekend ahead. The Pulse Stage hosted a bevy of tastemakers in the melodic realm such as Nils Hoffmann, Jerro b2b Marsh, Sultan + Shepard, a sunset set from Nora En Pure, Tinlicker, and finally a highly-anticipated closing set from This Never Happened label boss Lane 8.
Over on the main stage aka Eternal Stage, the energy was electric from doors open until close. Standout sets included Ship Wrek, Deorro b2b Valentino Khan, and Knock2. Transporting fans into another dimension, the closing sets from the evening came from “space mom” REZZ and resident EDM sadboy ILLENIUM which was backdropped by stunning production and pyro effects.
As the sun rose over Day 2, the weather was immaculate and the vibes were high from attendees and artists alike. Project Glow’s Pulse stage was percolating with underground beats from VNSSA, LF System, Hugel, and a special back-to-back set from house music maestros Acraze and Wax Motif. The crowd-favorite sets of the evening were from Elderbrook, who showcased a masterclass in house music with his DJ set, and finally, Purple Disco Machine.
Attendees were taken on a journey through the spectrum of electronic music at the Eternal Stage with performances from San Pacho, Troyboi, Said The Sky, and Two Friends. To close out the electric weekend, Zedd delivered a nostalgia-fueled set featuring hits from his own discography and other EDM giants.
In addition to the Eternal and Pulse stages, the Secret Garden Stage returned to Project Glow to represent the LGBTQIA community. Curated by DC nightlife icon Ed Bailey, the stage hosted a variety of talent that offered fans a unique experience. To further give back to the community, Project Glow donated $10,000 from ticket sales to Sasha Bruce Youthwork’s mission to improve the lives of runaway, homeless, and at-risk youth in the DC area.
The dazzling art installation that was the focal point of the festival was titled Elektra by the artist Tom Classen. Elektra served as the prime photoshoot location for giddy attendees in their favorite rave wear.
Project Glow’s ongoing success has primed the festival to become DC’s premier dance music event with high-class production and world-renowned talent. DC residents and East Coast dance music aficionados are certainly counting down the days until the festival’s fourth edition.
