Chase & Status have dropped a heavy session of drum and bass in an NYC Skatepark. In Chase & Status’s posted video (seen below), they ramped up the crowd with their set along with a unique New York backdrop and some pizza. A lucky group of bystanders had quite an exciting experience.

Beneath the underpass, fans of the duo were caught enjoying bits of spring, as blue skies graced the big city. Amidst the music, Chase & Status had also engorged themselves with sumptuous-looking NY-style pizza. The warmer days have spurred crowds to enjoy the beauty and thrill of outdoor sets.

While Saul, one half of Chase & Status, took a brief hiatus with the pizza, Will Kennard, the other half, was spinning to satiate the crowd. The duo has undoubtedly set expectations high for drum and bass performances this coming summer. The English artists have once again come stateside to showcase their distinct abilities behind the DJ decks.

The two artists formed in 2003 after attending the same university together in Manchester. Since then, Chase & Status have produced six studio albums. They have also collaborated with high-caliber artists such as Rihanna, CeeLo Green, Plan B, and Example. They are well-known for the hit song “Baddadan”, which has quite a number of features on it.

As legends of the EDM landscape, the duo has deservingly accrued over 6 million monthly listeners on Spotify alone. The duo has performed at impressive festivals like Glastonbury, Coachella, Lollapalooza, and many more. They have a history of gracing crowds with pulsating sets.

Chase & Status may as well have redefined expectations when it comes to drum and bass, NYC skateparks, and pizza. They undoubtedly have the know-how to curate a convivial atmosphere with elated fans. Hopefully, other artists catch wind of their artistic vision and on-stage presence to put on similar sets.

Like many others, I often dive into a variety of music genres and explore, as best I can, what resonates while I listen. For me, EDM is a dense subset of music with unique artistry and textured sounds - a facet of melody and tune that I will always investigate.
