Backwoods at Mulberry Mountain has canceled its scheduled 2024 festival, organizers announced in a social media post on Monday. The post stated that the cancellation of the four-day music and camping event, originally slated for June 6th–9th, 2024, in Ozark, AR, to “rising production costs, labor, and overall business expenses, coupled with a change in consumer buying patterns and economic conditions post COVID.” The lineup for the now-scrapped 2024 Backwoods at Mulberry Mountain festival included OPIUO, Jai Wolf, STS9, Thievery Corporation, LSZEE (LSDREAM and CloZee), The Disco Biscuits, Illenium, Tycho, Break Science, Manic Focus, Late Night Radio, Wreckno, The Crystan Method, and many more.

The cancellation message continued, stating, “Backwoods has been a passion-based project since its inception in 2008. We have organized many successful events over the years as a family-run operation, bringing amazing experiences to the community with workshops designed for self-healing, an appreciation of art, and a love for music. Our team fought harder this year than any other year in an attempt to host the best event, adding more music, keeping prices in line with previous years, and marketing harder than ever before in an attempt to drive attendance.”

Organizers added, “To those who have been to Backwoods in past years, we thank you for your patronage and hope that we brought some light and joy to your life throughout the years.”

Lastly, 2024 has been a strange year for music festivals. Other canceled events include Jay-Z’s ‘Made in America’ and Dover’s Firefly Festival. As fans, we hope the organizers of these events do their best to bring back these wonderful escapements.

Backwoods will begin processing ticket refunds for the canceled 2024 festival in the upcoming days. Any inquiries about the refund procedure can be directed to info@backwoodsmusicfestival.com.

My name is Sebastian Medina and I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Ever since I could remember, I have always been in love with dance music. I appreciate all genres and sub-genres but I definitely gravitate towards house and techno. Being from LA I was blessed with an amazing nightlife full of different artists coming in and out of town throughout the years. Some of my favorite artists include Seth Troxler, Michael Bibi, Mr.Carmack, PAWSA, and Folamour.
