Inside the Shambhala Music Festival 25th-Anniversary Pre-Party Lineup
Canada’s Shambhala Music Festival has announced the lineup of performers for this year’s on-site pre-party, headlined by Opiuo.
As Shambhala Music Festival gets set for its 25th Anniversary edition this summer, anticipation is rising exponentially among its loyal fanbase. For those that were unable to snag their festival tickets when they sold out in record time this past September, Shambhala is also throwing an official pre-party on June 29th, 2024 at Salmo River Ranch to allow even more patrons to enjoy at least a little bit of the magic. With two months before the pre-party gates open, Shambhala has announced the lineup of genre-melding talent that guests will be treated to as they kick off the quarter-century anniversary celebration.
Headlining the Shambhala pre-party will be New Zealand-native and Australia-based experimental bass artist Opiuo. Always innovating both sonically and visually, Opiuo fits the signature Shambhala atmosphere of love and artistic exploration perfectly. This will be far from his first visit to Salmo, as well – Opiuo has performed at Shambhala six times, gracing all six of their distinctly designed stages.
The next tier of artists on the lineup bring plenty of funky tunes and Canada home-cooking to the pre-party. British Columbia-native and house music maestro Felix Cartal will be playing his second set at Salmo after making his Shambhala debut in 2022. Skiitour and Stickybuds, each hailing from western Canada as well, are Shambhala fixtures with at least 10 appearances each under their belts and another one coming up this year.
Rounding out the pre-party lineup is a collection of zany names such as Lazy Syrup Orchestra, Longwalkshortdock, and Woofax, each of which have performed at Shambhala at least twice in previous years and many of which will perform at this year’s edition as well. These artists truly run the whole gamut of genres from electronic music and beyond, mixing in everything from drum-and-bass and acid house to reggae and ambient.
“We’re very excited to have the Pre-Party on the farm this year,” says Shambhala Music Festival CEO Neil MacLeod. “Hosting a Pre-Party at the farm is a significant undertaking that requires passion, creativity, and hard work. With two months to go, it’s already promising to be a fantastic event. 25 years is a huge milestone for the festival, so we are thrilled to do something extra special for our guests.”
This special one-night event from Shambhala will be a great way to spread the good vibes as much as possible and kick off their momentous 25th-anniversary celebration. Shambhala 2024 Pre-Party tickets are on sale now. Check out some of headliner Opiuo’s most popular tracks below!
