The desert air crackled with inexplicable fervor, every stage brimming with the bittersweet realization that doors were soon closing for another year. From surprise appearances to special B2B performances, Weekend 2 undoubtedly proved an electrifying finale to this year’s festivities. To mark the momentous occasion, Exron has highlighted some of the best moments from the weekend to reminisce on.
1. Gesaffelstein making his Coachella comeback
For the first time since 2019, the Dark Prince returned to the Outdoor stage for a categorically jaw-dropping audiovisual spectacle. Amid a pool of absolute darkness, Gesaffelstein stood front and center amid a gazebo of reflective pillars and blinding lights. Donning his quintessential silver glass-adorned helmet, Gesaffelstein mixed in several tantalizing IDs with his crowd-favorite tracks. Needless to say, the French producer brought enough bass and lights to beyond justify the 5-year wait.
2. Charlotte de Witte kicking Mojave Stage into Overdrive
For the full hour and 15 minutes of her set, Charlotte de Witte had the Mojave stage spellbound with her mesmerizing presence and driving beats. From her acclaimed track “Overdrive” to her newest single “Roar,” and a handful of addictive remixes and IDs in between, each drop brought a new wave of euphoria. Charlotte de Witte effortlessly brought techno to the forefront of Coachella across two weekends. More than anything, she demonstrated its ability to command the same fervor and enthusiasm as any other genre.
3. Prydz and Anyma teasing Hologenesys during their B2B
Both wizards of their crafts, Eric Prydz and Anyma stole the show with a historical B2B at Coachella’s Quasar Stage. During their extended 3+ hour set, the industry giants provided the festival’s new stage with an ultimate melding of the minds. Notably, Prydz and Anyma merged their larger-than-life solo visuals – teasing fans at a potential Hologenesys collaboration in the future. Unmistakably visible from neighboring stages, Eric Prydz and Anyma unquestionably left Coachella mesmerized with their performance.
No Coachella would be complete without its fair share of headline-grabbing moments, and Weekend 2 certainly delivered on that front. From Kid Cudi’s surprise lineup addition, to Grimes‘ lighthearted nod to last weekend’s technical difficulties, people were really just happy to be there. Unquestionably, this year’s festival once again proved why Coachella is the pinnacle of America’s music calendar.
