GRiZ Returns to the Studio with PROBCAUSE Amid Ongoing Music Hiatus
GRiZ still raps in his free time amid HIS hiatus from music.
GRiZ has been recently spotted freestyling bars in the studio with his good friend and GRiZ fam – funky bass DJ PROBCAUSE – after announcing he was taking a break from music in 2023. He has not played any shows or released any music since last summer.
A video was posted that showed GRiZ and PROBCAUSE jamming out while a cheerful woman stood close by and danced. Some of the lyrics GRiZ rapped were: “Hey, I make bass music. I love it. I hate it. It’s great. It sucks.” PROBCAUSE was recording and smiling as GRiZ sang his heart out.
The iconic bass DJ said he wanted to take time off to focus on himself, family, and friends after feeling like he ignored them too much due to work. GRiZ also said he will be spending his time traveling to find fresh inspiration to write music in a new headspace. It is still unclear when GRiZ plans to make a return to the music world.
GRiZ has had a banging career for 10+ years and became widely known for his energetic live performances where he would play the saxophone seamlessly with his unique bass sound. His music also has an emotional and heart-touching sound – all of which led him to have a dedicated fan bass.
The last project GRiZ worked on was his “Ouroboros EP” which he released on October 6, 2023. He said the track reminisces of where he has been and where he is headed. GRiZ added that ouroboros is an echo of the past, present, and future to reverberate in the void until the end becomes a beginning again – as all things exist in an infinite cycle of life, death, and rebirth.
His official hiatus began on October 7 when he made an Instagram post that said he was going to be signing off for a while. GRiZ has not posted anything on social media since then.
